SUKKUR: About a dozen people were injured in an armed clash between two groups of the Sanghar community in Hakro village near Rohri on Wednesday evening.

Officials at the Jhangro police station said that the two groups used clubs, iron rods, hatchets, knives and bricks in the clash over some money dispute.

Rafiq Ahmed, Sikandar, Ghazi Khan, Nazar Mohammad, Manthar, Yaqoob, Mushtaq, Mukhtiar, Ghulam Hassan, Ghulam Rasool and two other persons belonging to both sides were taken to the Rohri Taluka Hospital for treatment. Two of the wounded victims, Manthar and Yaqoob, were later referred to the Sukkur Civil Hospital due to their serious condition.

Woman strangled

A man, along with his brother and another associate, was booked at the Mauladad police station of Jacobabad on Wednesday for allegedly strangling his wife for honour.

An FIR lodged against the three men was lodged by Qalandar Bukhsh, the father of the deceased woman, Ms Ameeran, 26, alleging that her husband, Rahimdad Momdani, with the help of his brother, Walidad Momdani, and an associate, Hadeet Momdani, strangled her at their house in Dadpur Jagir village.
