ISLAMABAD: Two people, including a woman, were murdered in separate areas of the city on Thursday, police said.

In the first incident, a woman was killed by a gunman who raided her house, located at Dhoke Malaran in Tarnol. The police said that the victim, Farhat Bibi, was sleeping in the guestroom with her two grandsons, when the gunmen broke into the house and killed her on the spot by shooting her head.

The police quoted the victim’s family, who claimed that they had a dispute the in-laws of the victim’s daughter, which turned violent. They alleged that the in-laws were behind the murder.

In another incident, a man was strangulated by an acquaintance of his daughter in Mehrban Town.

According the police, the 45-year-old victim came to his and found a man with his daughter. As a result he lost his temper and resorted to shouting. The acquaintance of the victim’s daughter then attacked the victim and strangled him.

After getting the information, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for legal process.
