QUETTA, July 12: Balochistan government has established a council for the enforcement of Shariat under the patronage of the chief minister to propose amendments in the provincial, local and special laws in light of the recommendations of Council of Islamic Ideology.

A notification issued by the S&GAD on Wednesday said that Maulana Abdul Bari would be the chairman of the council whereas Senior Minister Maulana Wasay, Finance Minister Ehsan Shah, Labour Minister Maulana Faiz Mohammad, Maulana Noorullah Agha, Mufti Gul Hasan, Senator Kamran Murtaza, Maulana Niaz Mohammad Durrani, Maulana Abdullah Khilji, Sahibzada Khalid Sultan, Agha Mehdi Najfi, Arbab Hashim, law and S&GAD secretaries would be its members.

The council was mandated to examine all the provincial, local and special laws and propose amendments therein in the light of recommendations of the Council of Islamic Ideology and place them before the provincial assembly for considerations under article 230 (d) of the Constitution.
