Radio Chitral

I WATCHED live the interview of Samina Pervez, director- general, Radio Pakistan, on PTV the other day. She reiterated her resolve to strengthen rural broadcasting stations in the country.

But I wonder why she had issued orders to dismantle the 2 KV FM transmitter installed for the PBC Chitral station in 2005. How could she impose a ban on the maintenance of the 25W AM transmitter installed at the PBC Chitral station in 1993!

It beats me why she had issued a directive to gradually close the PBC Chitral station during her short tenure in office.

The DG should rather take steps to improve the working of the 3 KV FM transmitter and 10 KV AM transmitter.
