Three of a family murdered

GUJRANWALA, Dec 16: Three members of a family, including a house owner, were found murdered on Sunday in Nizamabad, Wazirabad.

Noor Muhammad Sayal, his wife Surraya Bibi and son Muhammad Imran (22) were asleep in their house when unidentified assailants came there and slaughtered them. The motive behind the murders could not be ascertained.

It is learnt that two sons of deceased Noor Muhammad were in the US. They were however suspected to be murdered on resistance during a dacoity bid. The bodies were shifted to the Wazirabad DHQ Hospital for autopsy.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

BISE MEMBERS: The principal of the Government High School, Daska (Sialkot), Muhammad Aslam Gill, and the principal of the Government College for Women, Daska, Prof Dr Mussarat Iqbal, have been appointed members of the Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education up to Dec 2, 2004, says a notification issued here on Saturday.

Sources said that these posts had been lying vacant since long.

QUACKS HELD: Five quacks were arrested by joint team of police and deputy district health officer in Wazirabad and Dhaunkel on Sunday.

Cases against them were also registered while their clinics were sealed. Many quacks ran away when they saw the raiding teams.
