Qatar, Kuwait teams arrive

KARACHI, July 11: Two more teams Qatar and Kuwait also arrived to compete in the Asian Youth Cup cricket tournament which opens at various centres from July 14.

Maldives, Malaysia and Singapore will be arriving here later Friday night.

Nepal, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait teams have already arrived here while Thailand and United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be reaching Saturday.

Following are the teams:

HONG KONG: Kieran Kumaria, Skhawat Ali, Yogesh Mahtani, Zain Abbas Moazzam Ayub, Ghulam Mustafa, Zaran Vachha, Colin Bridges Irfan Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed, Matthew Lind, Ansir Mahmood, Coutney Kruger and Nicholas Lau. Tabarak Dar (Manager), Lay Jayasinghe (Coach), Philippa Stewart (Physio) are the officials of the team. Raees Ahmed is liaision officer.

KUWAIT: Emad Husain Al-Jassan, Ahmed Ebrahim Mohammad, Khalid Al- Mutawa, Othman Abdul Aziz, Abdul Rahman, Abdullah Iftikhar Ahmed, Adeel Mirza, Ali Shahzad, Ali Talib Hussain, Arnav Dutta, Faisal Mohammed Shafiq, Habibullah Iftekhar, Mohammad Waqas Jamil, Muhammad Hamza Arif, Saim Shibli Etesham, Sajid Ashraf, Yasri Idress, Zeeshan Ahmed Asghar Ali, Muhamamd Iqbal Vanoo (Manager) Sameer Desai (Coach and Sudhakara Shetty are officials of the team while Ishaq Patel has been nominated as liaision officer of the team.

OMAN: Rafeeq Muhammed (Captain) Abbas Muthadha, Hussain Bilal, Derrick Ruston, Adnan Ilyas (Vice Captain), Imran Younus, Asad Haider, Pranav Mehta, Vignesh Shenoy, Ansar Raza Ansari, Yash Thakker, Mehdi Hassan Kamdar, Nitish kandwal, Rustam Ali Khan, Vivek Venkataram, Prajith Prabha, Sanjith Prabha, Salim Haider, Mahboob Moosa (Manager) Muthukrishna Bhupathi (Coach) Mohammed Asim (Assistant Coach) are officials of the team. QATAR: Hassan Ahmad Ali, Muhammad Athar Khan, Sarmad Adil, Mohammad Emran, Walimuni Migara Bimsara, Qamar Sadiq, Omer M.Arshad, Faisal Noor, Fahad Nurul Amin Dalvi, Yaseen Badsha, Abdul Aziz, Khalid Sher Azeem, Zaheeruddeen Ibrahim, Wasim Akram, M.Saif-ur-Rehman, Omar Sharif Bhatti, Mohsin Shabbir, Asif Mohammad Yousaf, Gul Muhammad Khan (Manager) Muhammad Amjad Baig (Senior Coach) K.Aruna De Silve (Coach) are the officials of the team.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which holding the championship on behalf of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has made elaborate security arrangments for the pqarticipating team.

Plain cloth security is also being provided to the teams while escort will be provided to the team from July 13.

The briefing by ACC officials to managers, coaches and captains will be held on Sunday.

The matches of the tournament will be held at seven grounds of the city which included premier Test centre National Stadium, PCB Regional Academy Ground, Asghar Ali Shah Stadium, Karachi Gymkhana, Aga Khan Gymkhana, UBL Sports Complex and Quaid-i-Azam Park Steel Township.—APP
