CHARSADDA: Unidentified motorcyclists shot dead two policemen in Shabaqadar Bazaar on Sunday.

The assailants, riding a motorcycle, managed to escape after killing Sheryar and Ayazullah, who were performing duty at Shabqadar Bazaar. Both the policemen were killed on the spot as they were shot in heir heads.

The incident created panic among the shopkeepers and customers at the bazaar. The shopkeepers closed their shops after the firing incident.

DPO Shafiullah Khan, who reached the site of occurrence, told journalists that such attacks could not stop police force to fulfil its mission of protecting lives and properties of people.

He said that the attack was a reaction to successful raids and search operations by police in different parts of Charsadda. He vowed to continue action against miscreants and criminals.

PROTEST: The All Parties Jirga of North Hashtnagar has threatened to launch a protest movement if government fails to end power loadshedding within a week.

A meeting of the jirga, held here with Communist Mazdoor Kisan Party president Mian Hikmat Shah in the chair, also asked the government to improve condition of education and health facilities.

The meeting also showed serious concern over shortage of teachers at Mandani Girls Higher Secondary School. The meeting demanded of the government to provide required facilities to all schools in the locality.

The participants of the meeting demanded of the authorities to provide uninterrupted power supply to 25 villages of the area.

They also asked the government to improve condition of health facilities in the area. Local leaders of different political parties attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Malik Falak Niaz has launched Pakhtun Mahafiz Tehreek (PMT) and vowed to protect the rights of Pakhtuns.

Addressing a press conference at Muhammadzai Press Club here on Sunday, he alleged that Awami National Party claimed that it was raising voice for the rights of Pakhtuns but it never followed its manifesto.

He said that Pakhtuns were dubbed as terrorists owing to the flawed policies of ANP. He said people in different districts of the province were joining his movement in a large number. He called upon intellectuals, writers and poets to get united to protect the rights of Pakhtuns.
