RAWALPINDI: A woman from the Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a smuggling attempt on Sunday, and arrested the passenger who was trying to smuggle 7.76kg of heroin to Dubai, airport sources said.

The seizure was made when the passengers were checking in for an Emirates Airlines flight for Dubai. ASF Corporal Shazia spotted a suspicioustrolley-bag and asked its owner for a manual search.

During the search, ASF staff recovered 7.76kg heroin which was concealed in a bag and arrested the passenger.

It is important to mention that the passenger’s bag had already been cleared by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), which had failed to detect the hidden heroin in the bag.
