QUETTA, July 10: Two personnel of the Frontier Corps were killed and three others injured when a landmine exploded in Chamalang area of Loralai district, some 350km north-east of here on Thursday evening.

“Yes, our two soldiers have been killed in a landmine blast,” a senior officer of the Frontier Corps confirmed here late at night.

According to sources, four soldiers of the FC were on their way to Kohlu in an official vehicle from Loralai. When they reached Chamalang coalmine area, the vehicle collided with a landmine, which exploded, resulting in the killing of two soldiers on the spot.

Three others, who got injured in the explosion, were rushed to the Loralai hospital for treatment. Hospital sources said that one of the injured, who was driving the official vehicle, was later shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, as his condition was serious.
