MANSEHRA: A local court on Sunday remanded into police custody for one day three accused who had allegedly raped a girl in a moving car.

The suspects were presented before judge, Amir Afridi, in an armoured personnel carrier in view of the possible attack on them by the people.

Prosecutor Mohsinn Khan told the court that following incorporation of ATA clauses in the FIR the case would be heard by an anti-terrorism judge and until suspects were presented before the ATC they should be given in police custody.

The judge ordered police to present suspects before AT judge in Abbottabad today (Monday).

Sub-Inspector Gul Mohammad, the investigation officer of the case, said that another girl, a friend of the victim who was also suspect in the case and had already been sent to jail on judicial remand, would also be tried under ATA.

“Though she is not being presented before ATC judge in Abbottabad on Monday, she will separately be presented before the court after fulfilling legal formalities,” added the official.
