Daughter of singer Noor Jehan passes away

LAHORE: Zille Huma, daughter of the legendary singer Noor Jehan, passed away here at the age of 70 on Friday morning, DawnNews reported.

She was suffering from complications due to diabetes and blood pressure and was being treated at a private hospital in Lahore, where she passed away on Friday morning. She had spent her last days on a ventilator.

Her funeral is scheduled to take place later today after the Friday prayers.

Zille Huma was born on February 21, 1944 in Lahore to the subcontinent’s legendary singer Noor Jehan and filmmaker Syed Shaukat Hussain Rizvi.

She inherited her mother’s voice and talent in singing. Her voice closely resembled her mother’s.

Zille Huma is survived by four sons, Mohammad Ali Butt, Ahmed Ali Butt, Mustafa Ali Butt and Hamza Ali Butt.

Sad to hear about Huma's death, may Allah place her in Jannah. (Aameen). Diabetes is very dangerous . People with diabetes must be very careful, Diet and work out , and take medication as per Dr's advise is very important. There is an error in the reporting of her age. She was either 58 or 60. She was not born in 1944. She had two older brothers who have also passed on. They were born from the union between Noor Jahan and S Rizvi which took place in 1942.

No doubt, she was a reflection of her legendary mother.Most of her work was taped by Kh. Najam ul Hasan and Farrukh Bashir sab at Islamabad and Lahore respectively. I am honored to have recorded her full length interview when Ptv celebrated Madam Noor Jehan's Birthday, a year before she left for her heavenly abode. May her soul Rest in Peace

Madam Noor Jehan is written as, singer Noor Jehan. Why this omission is? By saying singer does not her status lowered.
