ISLAMABAD, July 10: Member Engineering of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ghulam Akbar Bokhari on Thursday informed all the directorates that payments for all the major projects would be released after inspection of the project sites.

According to a circular, all directorates have been informed that the member engineering will inspect the project sites prior to release of payments to the contractors.

A source in the CDA said it was for the first time that approval for the release of payments would be given by the member engineering. However, previously payments were released on the approval of the member finance.

The source said the member engineering had already stopped payments of Rs66 million to the contractors despite the fact that member finance Masud Muzaffar had approved their release last month.
