HYDERABAD, July 10: The Postgraduate Doctors Forum has appealed to the president and the prime minister to ensure payment of stipend to postgraduate trainee doctors of Sindh on the pattern of the other provinces.

Talking to Dawn here on Thursday, PDF office-bearers Dr Riaz Hussain Leghari and Dr Aijaz Shaikh said 74 doctors were working as FCPS, part-II, trainees in various departments of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro. They said they were not being paid Rs6,210 per month which was being paid to trainees in the other provinces, terming it injustice with trainees of Sindh.

They said the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan had also taken up the matter with the Sindh government.

APPOINTED: Dr Anwar Ali Shah has been appointed the dean of the faculty of commerce and business administration, the university of Sindh, for a period of three years.

Prior to his new assignment he served as director IBA, University of Sindh, since 1993.
