LARKANA: Ali Gul Sangi, a well-known poet, author, political activist and journalist of Larkana, died of hepatic illness on Tuesday. He was 60. He was buried in his ancestral graveyard in Dodai village.

Sangi, whose first work reached the literary circle when he was just 17, was the author of five books. About a dozen of his books are ready to be published. His Urdu and Sindhi poetry was sung by Mehnaz and other singers. The deceased was a senior activist of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional. He was elected nazim of the Fatehpur union council twice with additional support of the Pakistan Peoples Party. He served in daily Mehran as journalist and remained president of the Larkana Press Club for 11 years.
