PESHAWAR: A seminar on the role of women in conflict resolution was held here on Saturday.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar in collaboration with the Islamabad-based Institute of Conflict Resolution organised the seminar.

The participants elucidated the experience of women in situations of tension, war, and post-conflict reconstruction.They said that women being the main civilian victims of the conflicts were not only powerless but also had limited role in decision making before, during and post-conflict situations.

The speakers included varsity’s vice chancellor Professor Razia Sultana, and Sabah Aslam, executive director of ICR.

A memorandum of understanding between was also singed at the end of the seminar to promote cooperation in the field of academic research and other activities between the two institutions. — Bureau Report
