KHAIRPUR: Two persons were killed while five others injured in a collision between a jeep and a passenger coach on Wednesday near Mithrri taluka Kot Diji.

Reports said that a jeep was going from Khairpur to Choondko via National Highway when it collided with a passenger coach going from Karachi to Sukkur, killing two occupants of the jeep identified as Haji Khan Mangrio, 30, and Miss Khilann, 55.

According to Kot Diji police, the injured were Mubarak, 48; Miss Sahib Khatoon, 26; Nawab Mangrio, 21; Aachar (Jeep driver), 35, and Khan Mohammad, 15.

They were taken to the Civil Hospital of Khairpur where Sahib Khatoon was said to be in critical condition.

Police have impounded the coach while its driver fled.

It is said the deceased and the injured belonged to the same family.
