Mozammil triumphs

ISLAMABAD: Top seed M. Mozammil beat Zain Rohail in an under-18 match of the SN Earth Day National Ladies and Juniors Tennis Championship 2014 on Tuesday.

Mozammil knocked down his opponent in straight sets to reach the next round.

However, Hafiz Arbab faced resistance from Zain Ali and beat him in two difficult sets.

Boys’ U-18 (second round):

Zaid Mujahid got walkover against Shehriyar Waqar; Hafiz Arbab bt Zain Ali 7-5, 7-6; M. Mozammil bt Zain Rohail 6-1, 6-1.

Ladies singles (pre-quarter-finals):

Mahvish Chishtie bt Tooba Sajjad 6-1, 6-1; Shahida Farooq bt Aqsa Sajjad 6-1, 6-1.
