HYDERABAD, July 7: People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Nawab Abdul Ghani Khan Talpur has said his party will not bargain with the government on the Legal Framework Order or other national issues.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he termed the LFO a supra-constitutional law and said no individual but parliament had the authority to amend the Constitution. He said the PPP would challenge all unconstitutional measures in and outside assemblies.

About the greater Thal canal project, Mr Talpur said Sindh would be deprived of its water share if the canal was constructed. He urged the government to respect the sentiments of the people and make alternate arrangements for water storage.

The PPP leader said the agriculture sector of Sindh was in doldrums and fertile lands of the province had been rendered barren due to shortage of water over the years. Wrong agriculture policies had further added to the miseries of growers. Several areas in the province had also been affect due to drought and the majority of people were living below the poverty line, he added.

CONTROL ROOM: A rain/flood emergency control room has been established at the office of the Sindh additional relief commissioner in Hyderabad which will function round-the-clock under supervision of the assistant director, relief department.
