HYDERABAD: The ninth civil judge and judicial magistrate of Hyderabad on Monday extended the remand of Sikandar Lashari, who held the post of sessions judge in Mithi when he was arrested, in police custody for another five days in a case of car snatching.

The case of car snatching was lodged at the Nasim Nagar police station after it emerged during interrogation that the car used in a murder had been snatched.

Lashari has been behind bars as a prime suspect in the murder case of Aqib Shahani, son of Jacobabad sessions judge Khalid Shahani. Aqib was killed on Feb 19 within the jurisdiction of the GOR police station by a gang of gunmen. Later, the investigation led to the arrest of Lashari.
