QUETTA: Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema has asked police officials and personnel not to accept any political and other pressure while dealing with mafias.

Addressing a police darbar here on Sunday, he said that action would be taken against black sheep in the department.

“There is no room in police for black sheep and I warn them of stern departmental action if they were found involved in malpractice and wrongdoing,” he said.

The CCPO said heinous crime could be curbed if police officers and personnel refused to accept any illegitimate pressure, including the political pressure. He said it was the responsibility of police to provide safety and protection to citizens.

He said rewards would be given to police officers and personnel who showed best performance in the line of duty. However, action would be taken against those found negligent.
