KARACHI; Outsider five-year-old bay mare Dream Girl lowered the colours of public fancy bay horse Frankestein in the day’s only upset as rider M. Naeem piloted home a brace of winners in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Dream Girl with no form worth got the better of owner-bet Frankestein by two lengths and-a-quarter to create quite a stir in the fifth and concluding race that was also feature event.

The race was preceded by re-betting after colt Dallas was opened 30 to 100 favourite and Frankestein 20 to 100 favourite when the betting commenced. However, the latter was backed by connection in the re-betting but had to bit the dust.

Bay horse Black Rose was placed third two lengths behind while colt All The Way completed the board further beaten by distance.

With three wins under his belt, Golden Rose, an unknown pedigree chestnut colt, stretched his winning run defeating mare Gumnam as he pleased by 12 lengths with rider Naeem astride. The rider had powered the horse to victory in its last outing also.

Naeem completed a splendid double while partnering colt Touching Star to a facile six-length victory to claim the fourth race. This was Touching Star’s third straight win under the same rider.

Discreet Cat had to be content with third place beaten by neck while Mujahid completed the frame among eight starters.

Champion rider Mohammad Essa repeated his winning feat as dark bay horse Arkadian made it two wins on trot imposing to a 10-length victory over filly Jal Pari in the second race.

The third race ended in a blaze of glory for colt Sher Dil who made amends beating Lucky Lyna by 12 lengths.
