DAGGAR: The newly established independent monitoring unit of the education department has detected 12 proxy teachers, four women among them, in government schools in Buner district.

Sources in the district office of the monitoring unit told mediapersons that the teachers who had hired the proxies were either out of the country or had been running their own businesses for a long time.

They said the report in this regard would be submitted to the provincial headquarters for further action.

The sources said during visits to the schools the field monitors found that no officer of the district education department had paid visits to majority of the schools during past five years.
