ISLAMABAD: The South Asian Netball Championship will be organised here in Islamabad from June 23 while the annual budget of 9 million will be allocated for 2014-15, the General Council of Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) approved here on Wednesday.

The council meeting was held at the Pakistan Sports Board Complex under the chairmanship of president PNF, Zafar Iqbal Awan.

All affiliated units attended the meeting and approved the agenda. A national beach netball championship has been allotted to the Sindh Netball Association and will be held in Karachi with the collaboration of the PSB.

It was also decided that the National Women Netball 2014 will be held in November by the Punjab Netball Association while the National Men’s Netball event will be staged in March 2015 in Abbottabad and will be organised by KP Association.

Besides, the Junior Netball event was allotted to Balochistan Association will be held in Quetta in Feb 2015.

The meeting also decided that a national umpiring course will be held in Islamabad in June while the national netball training camp for the South Asian Netball Championship will be organised from May 2014.

The house also unanimously decided to lift the ban on Army players Adnan Anjum and Nawab Khan as well as Balochistan player Ahmed Khan.

Later, the house also recited Fateha for late DG PSB Syed Ameer Hamza Gilani and also appreciated his efforts for the promotion of sports in the country.
