DADU, July 6: Hundreds of villagers from the drought-hit Kachho area held a demonstration outside the press club here on Saturday to protest against injudicious distribution of Zakat and subsistence allowance.

Talking to journalists, a protester, Mohammad Ali, said the deserving people of Drigh Bala, Heero Khan, Wahi Pandhi, Tore, Chhinni and Salari had not received Zakat and subsistence allowance for one year.

He said chairmen of the area Zakat committees had not distributed scholarships among the students and had embezzled the amount with the connivance of the chairman, district Zakat committee, Dadu.

Dodo Lund alleged the chairmen of Zakat committees had distributed Zakat and subsistence allowance cheques among their relatives.
