PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended several senior police officers and ordered inquiry against them for alleged corruption in recruitments in Frontier Reserve Police.

A police spokesman Riaz Ahmed said on Friday that keeping in view the preliminary inquiry conducted by a committee constituted to ascertain the alleged irregularities and corruption charges in FRP recruitments, the IGP suspended the officers and ordered another inquiry against them with immediate effect to fix responsibility.

The official said the police chief had received various public complaints about the massive corruption in FRP recruitments carried out in July, 2013. Taking strong exception to these complaints, he said, the IGP had transferred and suspended the responsible officers and had constituted a committee comprising additional IGP investigation and DIG Kohat for inquiry into the matter. The suspended officials included FRP deputy commandant, force’s acting SP, reserve inspector, OSI headquarters, reader to deputy commandant and OSI FRP, Kohat.

The official said the new committee comprised DIG Mardan Mohammad Saeed Wazir, DPO Abbottabad Mohammad Ali Gandapur and SP Abdur Rashid Khan. It has been directed to complete the inquiry against the delinquent officers and submit report to him at the earliest.
