LAHORE,  July 5: A competitive card of six  events  featuring the  Rahim Yar Khan Plate, a class five handicap race  highlights the Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at Racecourse on Sunday.

The  card  has been reduced to only six events, three  to  be contested over the sprinting distance of 900 metres and the other three  over 1000 metres. In all, 84 acceptors have been  left  in the field barring last-minute withdrawals.

In  the  Rahim Yar Khan Plate, a class V division  I  and  II combined handicap race to be run over 1000 metres, four acceptors come into reckoning. They are Better Case, Burn Heart, Set A Fire and King Of Bhakkar.

By  virtue of his fine performance in his  previous  outings, the five-year-old brown gelding King Of Bhakkar has an edge  over top-weight Better Case to pick up the spoils. Burn Heart and  Set A Fire should fight out for the place on board. This will be  the sixth and last race of the day.

The  supporting and fifth race, the Kharian Plate, class  VII division  I,  has  13  acceptors, if  there  are  no  last-minute withdrawals. In this race Hunza and Puma King attract  attention. Both  are  speedsters  and in good form  at  present  and  should measure  each other’s strides for the top slot. The race will  be run over 1000 metres.

Three  contestants seems to be on chance in the fourth  race, the  Kharian Plate class VII division Ii to have gone  over  1000 metres. They are: Little Master, Sun Of Gold and Dancing Margina. They should fight it closely.

The first race will be held at 3pm.
