GWADAR: Two personnel of the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) and an armed absconder were killed in a shootout in Ghinna area of Turbat on Thursday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off about presence of the absconder, identified as Ibrahim, in Ghinna area, the ATF personnel cordoned off the area.

“The armed gangster opened indiscriminate fire at the ATF team as it besieged his hideout,” police said.

As a result, two ATF personnel identified as Abdul Wahid and Aasi Imdad received a volley of bullets and died.

Police said the ATF personnel returned the fire, killing the absconder.

Bodies of the ATF personnel were shifted to hospital for autopsy.
