PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar, University of Punjab, Lahore University and Lahore College of Women University made it to the All Pakistan Women's Inter-university Volleyball Championship semi-finals here at the Jinnah College for Women’s ground on Thursday.

University of Punjab outclassed Sargodha University with the set scores being 25-22, 25-17 and 25-23. Punjab University fully dominated the play and did not give much room to Sargodha University to settle down. Haleema, Sadia, Aysia, Almas, Shomaila and Ruqia played well for Punjab University while Sargodha University’s Tayyaba, Aysha, Nasreen, Riffat and Noursheed contributed good points against strong Punjab University.

In other matches of the league, Lahore University blanked Peshawar University 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 30-25). Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan stunned Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University 3-0 in another thrilling match with scores being 25-15, 25-21 and 25-23.

Islamia Bahawalpur defeated Sargodha 3-1 with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21. In the earlier matches, University of Peshawar handed a shocking defeat to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in a thrilling four-set battle.
