QUETTA, July 4: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has asked the opposition parties to abandon the politics of confrontation as it will harm the smooth functioning of the democratic system.

Talking to reporters at the airport here on Friday the prime minister said the opposition leaders should change their stance on various issues to avoid any eventuality and save the democratic system.

Mr Jamali, who arrived from Karachi for a brief stay in the provincial metropolis, said that both the treasury and the opposition benches play a vital role to strengthen the democratic system, and a realistic approach was the need of the hour.

He said that the system could be kept intact if both the ruling and the opposition parties follow the give and take rule.

Replying to a question who could solve the problem, Mr Jamali said: “Neither I nor you could solve the problem, but everybody knows that who could resolve the matter.”
