HYDERABAD, July 4: Security measures in the district were beefed up on Friday following the incident of an attack in a mosque in Quetta.

Wireless messages have been sent throughout the district by the district police officer, operations, Hyderabad, A. D. Khwaja, to all the SHOs and Taluka police officers of the district to remain red alert.

The messages said that pickets must be established in all the sensitive areas of the district where there is a possibility of any backlash in the backdrop of Quetta’s incident.

A police source said that patrolling was ordered to be intensified throughout the district, especially outside madrassahs, mosques and imam barghas in order to maintain a close vigil on suspects.

The DPO directed the SHOs to ensure that no untoward incident took place.

The source claimed that elaborate security arrangements are being put in place around Mehfil-e-Hussaini on Station Road, Karbala Dadan Shah and Qadam Gah Maula Ali. The latter has a big turnout of people from all over Sindh province.
