Easy for Quetta and Karachi

KARACHI, July 3: Karachi and Quetta recorded impressive victories in the opening matches of PCB-Imran Regional Under-19 cricket tournament on Thursday.

Fazal Mohammad Khan slammed a fine unbeaten 68 as Karachi handed out a nine-wicket defeat to Multan at National Stadium.

Batting first, Multan were bowled out for 114 in 37.2 overs. Baber Ali top-scored with 26, which included three fours and a six.

In reply, Karachi romped home for the loss one wicket in 33.1 overs. Zeeshan Jamil hit 29 before he was bowled by Farhan Pervez.

In the second match at PCB Regional Academy Ground, Quetta defeated Hyderabad by 100 runs.

Quetta were dismissed for 181 in 39.3 overs after electing to bat first.

In reply, Hyderabad were skittled out for 81 in 21.3 overs. Wasim Qutub of Quetta made 38 while Tahir Ali scored a fine 42 with five boundaries.

For Quetta, Junaid Ali, Jahanzeb Chandio and Saif Ali Khan claimed two wickets apiece.—APP
