Matric results announced

MINGORA, July 3: Over 71 per cent of the candidates of science group have passed the annual matriculation examination according to the results released by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Swat, on Wednesday.

According to the results announced by the board’s controller Prof Mohammad Nazeef, in the science group, 4,622 students out of 6,527( passed the examination.

In the general group, 1,697 out of 4,839 passed and the success rate remained 35 per cent.

Muhibullah Younus, roll No.130220, of the Swat Public School, Mingora, stood first securing 769 marks out of 850. Hafsa Bibi, roll No.130152, of the same school remained second with 763 marks and Noorul Islam of the Shangla Public School, Alpuri, roll No.133302, got the third position by securing 762 marks.

Among girls, Shumela Meraj, roll No.65359, of the Sangota Public School got 754 marks and stood second and Neelum Zahir, roll No.130154, of the Swat Public School stood third with 752 marks.

Tariq Aziz of the Swat Public School, roll No.130223, got 759 marks  and stood third among boys.

In the general group, Attiqullah of the Government Higher Secondary School, Madyan, roll No.181632, secured 701 marks and stood first. Hina Rehman, roll No.85665, with 697 marks and Maria Gul, roll No.85662, with 682 marks, both of the Public School Sangota, remained second and third, respectively. Rehana Tabasum, roll No.85661, of the same institution, got 681 marks and stood third among girls.

Among boys, Abdul Wadood of the Government High School, Dewana Baba, roll No.182323, got 652 marks and stood second. Noor Badshah of the Government High School, Derai Alpuri, Shangla, roll No.181799, got the third position by securing 619 marks.

MALAKAND: The Malakand BISE has also announced the result of the matriculation  examination for 2003.

In the science group, 3,936 out of 5,813 passed and the result remained 68 per cent.

In the general group, 8,517 out 15,201 passed and the result remained 56 per cent.

Farooq Said of the Wisdom Public School, Timergara, roll No.146773, got 760 marks and stood first. Altaf Khan, roll No.146129, of the Lalazar Public School, Thana, got 755 marks and stood second.
