FAISALABAD, Dec 15: A comprehensive policy has been announced here on Saturday by the Punjab Arts Council for the implementation of prescribed rules and regulations and taking action against violators in stage plays and musical shows.

During a meeting attended by executive district officer (community development) Abdul Basit Sohail, Lahore Arts Council director Malik Muhammad Imran, Faisalabad Arts Council resident director Asif Chaudhry, managers of various cinemas and others concerned, it was decided that organizers of stage plays and shows would deposit surety bonds of Rs100,000, three copies of the script and video film of the show to the authorities concerned. Stern action would be taken in case cast and organizers of the shows were found violating prescribed rules.

It was also decided in the meeting that a panel of officials would observe the full dress rehearsal before the start of play so that use of vulgar language and obnoxious performance could be stopped.

The directors of dramas have also been bound to get registration from the Punjab Arts Council. It was also made mandatory that the agreement papers between the cinema management, producers and directors should be attested from the class-I officer.

The manager of the cinemas were also directed by the government functionaries that they should also provide all facilities to the cine-goers otherwise they would face legal action.
