Published July 4, 2003

KARACHI, July 3: City government has chalked out a plan to prevent possible loss during the monsoon season, besides ensuring safety of picnickers visiting beaches in high-tide season.

At a meeting, chaired by DCO Mir Hussain Ali, on Thursday, it was decided that the CDGK would coordination with Army, Navy and other relevant departments to meet any emergency.

The DCO informed the army and naval officers about the arrangements made till date by the city government to avoid eventualities in case of rains and floods. The DCO, expressing his serious concern over recent incidents of drowning at the sea, underscored the need for fool-proof arrangements on part of civic agencies to prevent recurrence of such incidents.—APP
