At least 18 tribesmen abducted from Peshawar outskirts

PESHAWAR: At least 18 tribesmen were kidnapped by armed gunmen from Badhber area on the outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The incident took place on Saturday at 2 am.

Official sources said that about 60 to 70 armed gunmen raided Faqeer Kalley in Mashokhel area of Badbher, some one kilometres away from the main city and kidnapped 18 people from the village.

The local people and the police said the kidnapped people belonged to the Shinwari tribe of Khyber agency.

Badhber police have registered a case against three commanders of the banned religious outfit Lashkar-e-Islam for kidnapping of eleven tribesmen. Commanders Khalid, Sherkhel and Izzat have been nominated in the FIR.

One of the kidnapped persons has managed to escape from the kidnappers and has reached back home who phoned the police that the Khyber Agency-based Lashkar-i-Islam kidnapped the tribesmen.

Peshawar lies on the edge of Pakistan's tribal areas which have been labelled by Washington as the main sanctuary for Al Qaeda and Taliban militants in the country.

The city has seen frequent attacks by militants in the past few years, with targets ranging from civilians to policemen and other law enforcement personnel.

Separately, the political administration of Khyber Agency has also suspended the polio vaccination drive scheduled to begin on March 17 due to the law and order situation.

The Government should not pursue peace talks with Taliban until they prove that they are the sole representative of all militant factions, who were either part of Taliban or have disassociated from Taliban. If they do not have the capacity and authority to control their factions, who are not either happy with their peace plan or want to continue fighting with the state, then Taliban have two choice, first they should settle their scores with their splinter groups by force and bring them under their hegemony, and second to point their locations and hideouts to the State of Pakistan, so these mischief mongers could eliminated jointly, and then Taliban can pursue peace process with the State of Pakistan. The Govt. should not play in the hands of religious groups or make decisions based on the ongoing TV and Talk Shows, but make judicious decisions after thoughtful considerations and based on ground realities.

and Imran Khan thinks that these tribesmen can take on the TTP and defeat them easily how much one person can be removed from reality is baffling but shocking if that person comes as a leader of the third force in the political arena.

How nobody did not observe when 60 to 70 terrorists barge into a village and take away 18 people. There should have been commotion and gun fire. What the intelligence agencies, local police, FC doing when such wholesale kidnap take place. Even now they can be located by their mobile phone signals. Is it the lethargy or conspiracy of local security agencies?

First of All Down should correct it Mistake. Shinwari are A Branch of Safi tribe Not Afridi. They are living in Khyber agency with Afridi. There own area is called Shalman. They are also living in Mohmand Agency and Afghanistan on the Banks of Kabul River. They are. Peaceful tribe in all tribal area FATA. Second it were kidnapped by Mangal Bagh who is ISI Sponsored Fugitive. He was a Truck conductor made leader by Rehmat shah Afridi the owner of The Frontier Post daily with the help Of ISI who made an organisation AmarbilMaroof wa naheeAanulmankar. Third Pti government was The Associate organisation of Taliban ,Molana fazalRehman knows it well. The present Taliban leaders are all Former member of JI Kashmir jahadee organisation I-e Fazaliullah ,Qari Shakeell and Omar Khalid khurasani. After cease fire They Formed IhrarulHind controlled from the same area where Haji saheb turangzai made A morcha Along with Indian mujahideen against British India. And his Son Bachagul Lashakar was Attack by Pakistani Air force in Ayub Khan era. In tribal area Pak Army is doing Exercises just like Army did in cholistan make one section of army is blue land and the other Fox land. Now in FATA Fox land are Taliban and Pak army is Blue land.
