DADU, Dec 15: Eleven persons were inured in a clash between two groups of Arain clan over construction of the compound wall of a shopping centre at the railway crossing in Sita Road town on Saturday.

Guns, axes and iron rods were used in the clash in which Zahid, Ghulam Sarwar, Akhtiar, Ashiq, Akhlaq, Munir, Zahid, Khalid, Rasheed, Anwar and Zulfiqar were injured.

They were admitted to a local hospital where eight of them were discharged after medical aid while condition of three persons was stated to be serious.

Rukkan police have registered two separate cases against 11 persons of both groups and deployed heavy contingent of police on the spot.

Meanwhile on the request from the Nazim of Sita Road union council, Ali Muhammad Soomro, the matter has been referred to him for resolving the dispute.

BANDITS: About five outlaws unsuccessfully tried to snatch a police mobile from a police party on Mehar-Qazi Arif link road, two kilometres away from Mehar town.

Earlier the bandits blocked road and looted thousands of rupees in cash and other valuables from travellers.

Meanwhile a patrolling police party of Mehar police arrived on the spot.

The outlaws surrounded the police mobile and attempted to snatch the vehicle but after an exchange of fire for half an hour, they abandoned it and escaped with the booty.

Mehar police have registered an FIR against the alleged gang leader Bachal Khoso, Ashiq Durrani and an unidentified accused.

Later the police raided several villages of Mehar taluka, arrested six suspects and are investigating.

GAMBLERS HELD: Kotri town police raided a gambling den near the bank of Indus River in Kotri on Saturday and arrested six gamblers identified as Mohammad Aslam Shoro, Mohammad Umer Khaskheli, Amin Guryani, Nadeem Khaskheli, Allah Bachayo Rahpoto and Allah Bachayo Mallah.

The police recovered playing cards and cash from their possession and registered a case against the accused under section five of the Gambling Act.

ARRESTED: A police party of Theabat police station raided Lukki Shah Sadar and arrested accused Yar Mohammad Shah on Saturday.

The police said that he was involved in heinous crimes’ cases registered with seve ral police stations of Dadu district.

BUFFALOES: Some five armed men barged into the house of Lal Bukhsh near Jamshoro town on Saturday morning and took away 11 buffaloes in two trucks.

The Jamshoro police have registered an FIR against five unidentified armed men and are investigating.
