PESHAWAR, Dec 15: The Acting Governor of NWFP, Justice Sardar Mohammad Raza, has stressed the need for spreading education.

Talking to a delegation of SALT Foundation of Netherlands, headed by Dr Andrew Vander Bijl, which called on him at the Governor’s House, on Saturday, he said that serving humanity by reforming society through education was a herculean task, which required constant efforts and all those involved in this exercise must have to be tenacious and sincere to the cause of humanity.

Justice Raza said it was a sacred duty to educate people and enlighten them on how to perform their duties. The basic concept, he said, should be to enable the powerless poor to decide and opt for their future better prospects. This would help society stand on its own feet, he added.

He said there should be a two-pronged approach: enlightening the humanity and perseverance. The latter one was not an easy task. hae added.

REFUGEES: Referring to the problem of refugees, the acting governor said it was mainly because of an abnormal situation in Afghanistan that the people had been migrating here. They would definitely go back if peace and normalcy returned to war-torn Afghanistan and the process of its reconstruction started.
