NOWSHERA: Coordinator Taliban negotiating committee and JUI-S provincial chief in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Maulana Yousuf Shah on Tuesday said that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has fully empowered Maulana Samiul Haq to take any decision regarding the peace process.

He said that Taliban would accept whatever decision, taken by Haq in this regard.

In an interview with APP at Darul Uloom Haqqqania in Akora Khattak, Shah said that “we do not want any deadlock in peace talks as operation was no solution to the problem.”

Therefore, the negotiation process should continue, he said, added that, “we have consulted TTP’s political shura on various issues and the peace process would be taken forward in the next round of talks with the government team.”

Maulana Yousuf Shah claimed that majority groups of Taliban are willing to hold talks and continue the peace process. The remaining one or two factions, would also be persuaded to agree on the issue, he added.

He said that utmost efforts should be made to avoid using the force and carrying out operation.

“We have detailed discussion with the TTP about the gruesome killing of 23 FC troops and attack on Karachi police by TTP Mohmand Agency group,” he said.

Shah said: “They have briefed us in detail and it would be brought to the notice of the government team whenever we have an opportunity of meeting with them.”

He said Taliban wanted meaningful talks with the government.
