DHAKA, Dec 15: A Bangladeshi journalist and anti-fundamentalism campaigner held on suspicion of treason has alleged that police tortured him during detention, newspaper reports said on Saturday.
Shahriar Kabir, who heads Bangladesh’s main anti-fundamentalist group, was produced in a magistrate court Friday after four days of questioning by detectives from government security agencies. Kabir, who has criticised alleged abuses against Hindu minorities said he was only carrying out his professional responsibilities.—AFP
