LAHORE: The Crimes Investigation Agency (CIA) police claim to have arrested eight members of inter-provincial Baloch dacoit gang involved in more than 40 incidents of looting passengers leaving airports in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

Local and foreign currency, gold ornaments, laptops, watches, mobile phones, three vehicles and other valuables worth millions besides illegal weapons were recovered from the suspects who would rob people in the uniform of Federal Investigation Agency, Anti-Narcotics Force, Airport Security Force and SIU.

According to a handout issued on Friday, a police team constituted by CIA SP Omar Virk collected information from victims and conducted raids at different places.

The police arrested Ringleader Waleed Khan Baloch and his seven accomplices -- Ahmad Raza, Sikandar Khan, Aslam alias Ayub, Adnan, Hasan Qasim, Waleed Khan alias Wali Pathan and Muhammad Yasir.

The criminals confessed to dozens of crimes of looting foreign and local passengers at airports of Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad in the last two years.

DIG Investigation Zulfiqar Hameed has announced cash awards and commendatory certificates for the police party.

ROBBERY: Two robbers barged into the medical store on the GT Road in Shalimar police precincts and took away cash and cell phone. The store was owned by one Majeed.
