HYDERABAD, June 27: Water supply to different areas of union council-13 of the City Taluka could not be restored on Friday, forcing the residents to take to streets.

The residents blocked Pinjra Pole road to lodge their protest against non-supply of water.

The residents raised slogans against Wasa for failing to restore water supply to their areas. They claimed that there had been no water in their areas for 20 days.

Led by UC-13 Nazim Majeed Qureshi, the residents also gathered outside the district council to protest over non-supply of water. They also held a demonstration before the press club and burnt tyres.

Wasa executive engineer Basheer Awan said that water supply would be restored by late Friday night.

The affected areas included Effendi Town, Abbasi Colony, Pinjra Pole, Gul Shah Bukhari and Noor Masjid area.
