PESHAWAR: Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk took oath as the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court here at the Governor’s House on Friday.

He was administered oath by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah Khan.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, judges of the high court, senior lawyers, provincial ministers and others.

The notifications regarding the elevation of the outgoing Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan to the Supreme Court and appointment of Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk as the PHC Chief Justice were issued by the president of Pakistan on Thursday.

Justice Mulk was senior most judge of the high court and the Judicial Commission of Pakistan had recommended his appointment as chief justice of the provincial court.

Justice Mulk will attain superannuation on April 7, 2014, and will remain on this post only for over two months.
