Karachi Eaglets down Tigers

KARACHI, Dec 14: Karachi Eaglets moved into the final of the All Karachi Sundip Colour Kit Ramazan cricket tournament after downing Karachi Tigers by just two runs at the Airport Gymkhana Thursday.

Eaglets having first use of the wicket, hit up 157 for nine in their 20 overs with Mansoor (27), M. Waheed (26) and Khurram Abbas (20), among the runs. Atif Shariyar picked up three wickets for 21 runs and was ably supported by Mazhar Ali two for 20.

Tigers chasing 158 runs for victory, fell short of the victory target by three runs, restricted to 155 for six in their 20 allotted overs. Rahim Umair (55), Irfan (35) and Atif Shariyar (27) tried their level best to see their team through to the finals, but it was Mohammad Waheed two for 37 and Khurram Abbas two for 28, who saw their team through to a narrow victory.
