Transport fares cut in Swabi

Published December 15, 2001

SWABI, Dec 14: The district government has reduced transport fares on all routes, district Naib Nazim Mohammad Jamil said on Thursday.

He said this at a meeting with the district transport committee, transporters’ unions, traffic police officials and the district government representatives.

Mr Jamil said that following reduction in the prices of petroleum products, there was no reason to charge the old fares. The transporters had to reduce the fares of coaches, buses and pickups, plying on different routes in the district, he added.

He said the decision would be applicable from Friday and the transporters had been asked to charge the passengers as per revised fares.
