SWABI, June 21: Provincial education minister Maulana Fazl-i- Ali said on Saturday that in the current financial year it has been planned to open 655 new schools in the various areas of NWFP where the youngsters would get free education.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of launching F. Sc classes in the Quaid-i-Azam Public School, he said in the last 56 years it would the first time that the provincial government would establish educational institutions in such a large number.
He said: “It is crystal clear that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government has given much importance to the education sector and allocated a major chunk of the budget to education.
The measures being taken by the MMA government would encourage the people to get education.”
The minister said 208 primary schools would be upgraded to the middle level, 200 middle schools would be made high schools, 200 high schools to the higher secondary level and 47 fresh primary schools would be set up.— Correspondent
