KARACHI, June 21: Judge Aley Maqbool Rizvi of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC)-I, Karachi, on Saturday adjourned hearing of the case, involving conspiracy to assassinate President General Pervez Musharraf, against activists of a banned organization, Harkatul Mujahideen Al-Alami, on request of counsels.

ATC’s Judge, who is conducting trial in central jail Karachi, fixed June 28, 2003, to hear the application filed by defence counsel of one accused, who sought calling the record of US Consulate bomb blast case before the trial court.

Mohammad Hanif, Mohammad Imran, Sharib Arsalan Farooqui, Mohammad Asharaf Khan and Ranger’s ex-Inspector, Waseem Akhtar, of banned organization, are being tried for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to assassinate President Musharraf in Karachi in April last year.

Abdul Waheed Katpar, Khawaja Naveed Ahmed, Raza Abidi, Maqboolur Rehman and Ashraf Ali Kazi advocates are representing the accused, while Special Public Prosecutors, Abdul Waheed Khan and Muala Bux Bhatti, appeared for state.
