LAHORE, June 20: Four women were killed and seven other people injured in a road accident at Jia Musa, Shahdara, on Friday.

Police said a bus was coming to Lahore from Sheikhupura when its driver lost control over it while overtaking a van. The bus hit a car and overturned. Eleven passengers sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Mayo Hospital where Kaneez Fatima, 65, was pronounced dead. Three other women, so far unidentified, succumbed to their injuries later.

Doctors said the condition of three of the remaining injured was also critical.
