KARACHI: Pakistan’s cricket legend Little Master Hanif Mohammad and former world snooker champion Mohammad Asif will be honoured for their meritorious services in sports in an impressive ceremony at Sheraton hotel here on Sunday.

“Former captain and opener Hanif Mohammad is an icon of Pakistan cricket and his remarkable achievements for the country can never be forgetten,” said former first-class cricketer and CEO Zaheer Ahmed, whose organisation will host the function, on Thursday.

Zaheer added that Asif who won the IBSF World Snooker crown last December deserved tremendous praise for earning the rare honour and bringing glory to Pakistan.

He said that after winning the world title, Faisalabad-based Asif also won the 6-Red Asian Championship

in Doha and IBSF World Team Snooker crown with Mohammad Sajjad in Carlow a few months ago which are testament to his class and stature as a sportsman.

Zaheer, who also runs the Dollar East cricket team and the Royal Cricket Club, said besides the awards, handsome cash prizes would be given to Hanif and Asif.—APP
