KARACHI, June 19: Naeem Khan and Adeel Malik clinched the Karachi Regional Academy (KRA) Double Wicket tournament at National Stadium on Thursday.

Naeem/Adeel in the final defeated Asadullah Sumeiri and Ozair-ul-Haq by 23 runs.

Naeem, a wicket-keeper batsman played main role in his team’s triumph, by scoring 12 runs with two boundaries and taking two wickets for two runs with his off-breaks.

Naeem/Adeel collected 18 for the loss wicket in their quota of two overs. After three runs deduction for one dismissal, they finished with a score of 15.

Asad/Ozair in reply scored 10 runs and dismissed six times thus finishing with a minus score of eight runs.

Earlier in the semifinal Naeem/ Adeel defeated Fawad Alam and Sharif Asadullah by four runs while Asad/Ozair got better of Asad Shafiq and Mohsin Akhtar by six runs.

Alam Hussain, who took four catches and accounted for one run out was named the best fielder of the tournament.

The event was organized coaches Jalaluddin and Haris Ahmed Khan to give boys different brand of cricket to develop their individual skill and game plan for the matches.

Eleven pairs attending KRA training took part in the event.
