KARACHI, June 17: The top 16 snooker plyaers of the country will be seen in action in the 17th edition of the

Red and White Latif Masters Snooker Championship to be held here in September.

According to details, Karachi Club will as usual play host to the prestigious tournament that will carry at stake a prize purse of Rs 240,000.

The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), the game’s governing body in the country.

The tournament was initiated by the PBSA with the help of the Karachi Club back in 1987 in the memory of late Latif Amir Baksh, considered to be the greatest cueist produced by Pakistan.

This year’s tournament will feature the top 16 cueists of the national circuit.

The winner of the tournament will get richer by Rs 100,000 while the runner-up will earn a cash prize of Rs 60,000.

There will also be a special prize of Rs10,000 for the highest break in the competition.

The participants of the tournament will be invited to compete in the event on the basis of their national rankings.—PPI
